Navigating Uncertainty
Your feelings of uncertainty, wherever they come from, are shared by so many others. Read more!
Whether it’s global events like the U.S. elections or personal challenges, uncertainty can feel overwhelming. Given all the uncertainty, I’ve been working to find grounding actions that keep me centered. It hasn’t been easy—having control has always brought me peace. But when life throws us off balance, we often have to find ways to keep calm and steady.
One way I cope is by writing down my thoughts and looking for practical solutions, whether it’s dealing with relationships, managing anxiety, or tackling other challenges. But when I don’t have all the answers—and it’s clear that endlessly searching the internet isn’t helping—I shift my focus to making the situation more manageable.
Reaching out to a friend, loved one, or even therapist can be incredibly helpful. It can be tempting to handle tough situations or feelings alone, especially with the messages traditional masculinity often sends. But leaning on others during uncertain times makes it so much easier to bear. Isolation only intensifies the anxiety or discomfort that comes with not knowing what’s next, while connection brings relief and perspective.
Ultimately, we each have our own ways of navigating uncertainty, and I wanted to share some of mine because we’re all going through life’s ups and downs together. Remember, you are not alone when it comes to navigating uncertainty. Even though feeling alone is often much easier than believing you’re not, I hope this message serves as a reminder that your feelings of uncertainty, wherever they come from, are shared by so many others. We’re in good company.
